The company Hargo Creations was started in New York City in 1955 by the husband-and-wife team of Joseph Heibronner and Edith Levitt. Their brand, HAR soon became known for its signature ornate fantastical pieces including dragon, genie and snake designs made of aurora borealis Swarovski crystals and high-quality enamel. The company closed in 1968 .
