In 2023 when I was in the Czech Republic, I was taken to an antique shop (of sorts) where I dug for treasure . Actually I had to go back it was too good to be true ! I’ve made many pieces of jewellery from the treasure I found there but I’ve never , until now 2026 had the ‘right’ feeling for these few bunches of glass grapes that I bought home .
I’ve certainly tried but this week the inspiration hit ! Like a woman possessed I sat and created all day until it was perfect.
It’s such a brilliant feeling when this happens .

The grapes and leaves are Vintage Czech glass beads that have been pressed . Then they are meticulously wired together, with the same twisted wire creating tendrils just like real grapes.
The grapes are a greenish tinged clear bead and the leaves are a dark Forrest green .
I have beaded the necklace base creating a bead fabric if you like, using a metallic silvery green Czech fire polish glass bead.
Each bunch of grapes had been carefully stitched into place on top of the beaded base .
The necklace is adjustable in length.
This necklace is slightly heavier than most designs I make but the design shape means it still very comfortable and easy to wear .
It’s a true one of a kind with the most fabulous story attached .
I have added a picture from the hundred plus year old building and the view out the tiny window that I took as I dug for treasure .
