Victorian era Treasure

There is history in the glass everywhere you turn .
The Jablonec nad Nisou and Jizera Mountains region became a global hub for black glass production. Following the death of Prince Albert in 1861, Queen Victoria popularized mourning fashion, driving massive demand for affordable black "jet" alternatives.
Czech artisans produced pressed black glass stones, beads, brooches, buttons, and hair combs using techniques like tin-soldering and riveted metal bases.
We were lucky to be taken to the home of a lovely gentleman 85 years young who is using the old black glass pieces still in existence to remake brooches from this era .
I’ve hand stitched this necklace and attached this beautiful brooch at the centre with a lovely pressed glass Cameo style pendant.
The Brooch can be removed gently and the brooch and or necklace can be worn separately .
Designed to be worn high . Adjustable
